ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Fondation Amani na Afya (FAA) is a locally rooted organization advancing inclusive development, health, human rights, education, livelihoods, and community resilience in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Founded in 2019, FAA works alongside communities, civil society organizations, public institutions, schools, health facilities, and development partners to address the interconnected challenges affecting vulnerable and underserved populations. Our work places particular emphasis on women, children, adolescents, youth, people with disabilities, and communities experiencing exclusion and vulnerability.

We believe that sustainable change happens when communities are not simply recipients of solutions, but are actively involved in identifying priorities, designing interventions, implementing solutions, and sustaining results. We therefore combine local knowledge and leadership with technical expertise, evidence, partnerships, and strategic resources to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Mission

To empower vulnerable and underserved communities through inclusive, participatory and evidence-driven solutions that advance health, rights, education, livelihoods and resilience.

Vision

A just, healthy and resilient Eastern DRC where every person can live with dignity, access opportunity and realize their rights.

What Makes FAA Different

We listen first, co-create solutions, and work through local structures.

We address vulnerability as an issue of rights, dignity, equality, and justice.

We use research, assessments, community knowledge, and monitoring data to guide action and demonstrate results.

We bring local leadership and knowledge together with technical expertise, partnerships, and wider resources.

Our Approach

FAA applies a rights-based, inclusive, participatory, and evidence-driven approach to development. We listen to communities, understand the barriers they face, and work with local structures to develop solutions that respond to real needs.
